Rental Terms and Conditions
Below are the terms and conditions of the rental agreement attached and are considered one document. Prestige Auto Rentals, hereinafter referred to as “PAR” or “We”. “You’, ”Your”’ and “Customer” means the person identified on the rental agreement as customer, each person signing this agreement, and every Authorized driver and are jointly and severally bound by this agreement. All clients are required to complete a rental agreement prior to renting the vehicle requested. In addition, each customer must submit a copy of their driver’s license as well as the driver’s license of any other person who will be operating the vehicle. PAR will check your driving history and reserve the right to deny a rental to any person, for any reason.
THE MINIMUM AGE TO RENT A VEHICLE IS 25.
INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS- all customers are required to have and must present proof to PAR of their own personal liability and physical damage automobile insurance policies on a comparably priced vehicle. In addition, the Customer must confirm with their insurance carrier that the policy they have will cover the vehicle being rented.
RESERVATION REQUIREMENTS- if a reservation is made outside of 14 days, a refundable Reservation Deposit equal to one day’s rental, is due within seven days of confirmation of vehicle availability. If the reservation is made inside of 14 days, the refundable Reservation Deposit must be received within 24 hours of the confirmation of availability. If the reservation is made inside of 48 hours, the Reservation Deposit is due by 5 PM Eastern Time on the same day of making the reservation. The Reservation Deposit will be applied to the balance of the total rental. In addition, PAR will authorize your credit card for the full amount of the rental when confirming reservation but will not actually charge your card until time of actual rental.
CANCELLATION POLICY- in the event you cancel your reservation in less than 48 hours of pickup, you will forfeit your Reservation deposit. In addition, PAR may charge a cancellation fee equal to 100% of your rental during certain high demand periods.
ADDITIONAL SECURITY DEPOSIT- PAR requires all renters to provide us with a damage deposit (separate from the Reservation Deposit) at the time of vehicle pickup. This deposit will be used to cover any minor damage to the vehicle. The deposit will be $500 to $1250 depending on the type of rental vehicle and is payable by credit card or cash. The cost for any damage found on the vehicle during the return inspection will be deducted from this deposit.
RESPONSIBILITY for DAMAGE or LOSS- customer is responsible for all damage or theft of vehicle whether you are at fault or not. You must report damage or theft to the police. Your responsibility includes the actual cost of repair or the actual cash retail value of the vehicle on the date of loss if the vehicle is stolen, not repairable, or if PAR elects not to repair the vehicle. It also includes Loss of Use, Diminished Value, and PAR’s administrative expenses incurred processing the claim. Customer is also responsible for any missing equipment such as keys, documents, or any items originally provided with the vehicle.
METHODS OF PAYMENT- PAR accepts American Express, Visa, Master card, or cash as payment for rental fees and security deposits. PAR does not accept personal or corporate checks. We do not accept Discover Card.
RETURN TIMES- vehicle must be returned at the time on the rental agreement. We allow a one hour grace period, however vehicles scheduled for return between 6 PM and 8 AM will not be given a grace period. Any vehicle returned after the grace period or late will be subject to additional rental fees. Customer remains liable for the vehicle until vehicle is physically received by PAR If we are experiencing dangerous weather in the area PAR will allow for reasonable time to return.
FUEL CHARGE- all vehicles must be returned with the same amount of gas as when rented. If returned with less gas PAR will impose a gas surcharge of $5.00 per gallon. Vehicle must be operated with premium fuel only and you will be charged a penalty of $500 for using a lesser grade.
CLEANING FEE- if the vehicle is returned in a substantially less clean condition than when delivered, PAR will assess to you a cleaning charge of $200.
REFUNDS- we do not offer refunds. We are very concerned about customer satisfaction and will work with you if you are not satisfied with the rental. In the event of an unforeseen mechanical failure during or prior to the rental, we will make every effort to repair or replace your vehicle at no additional cost to you.
DRIVING RESTRICTIONS- our vehicles may not be driven outside the state of in which the vehicle is rented (Colorado or New Jersey) without the express written consent of PAR.
MILEAGE ALLOWANCE- customers are allowed 100 miles per day. All miles driven over this amount will be subject to an additional surcharge of $1.99 per mile.
PROHIBITED USE of VEHICLES- Our vehicles MAY NOT be used: – By anyone without a valid driver’s license – To exceed any legally posted speed limit – By anyone not listed as an additional driver on the rental agreement – In an unsafe or reckless manner – To carry persons or property for hire – In any speed test, race, rally, demonstration, or race track event – To push or tow any vehicle or trailer – For anything other than personal or private use – To drive off road or any unpaved or unfinished surface – For any illegal purpose – By anyone under the influence of alcohol, prescription or non-prescription drugs In the event this rental agreement is violated, PAR reserves the right to immediately take back the vehicle. You also agree to pay PAR any and all fees/costs associated with your violation of this policy.
TICKETS- Customer agrees to be responsible for all tickets and will promptly make payments for any parking, speeding, traffic, or other violations including any towing and impound fees while the vehicle is on rental. Any time accumulated while in an impound situation will be considered as on rent and final balance will include this period.
REPOSSESSION- Customer agrees that PAR reserves the right to immediately take possession of the vehicle if any of the included Terms and Conditions is violated. In addition, customer agrees to pay PAR all fees incurred as a result of this action.
YOUR PROPERTY- You release PAR, it’s Agents, and employee’s from all claims of loss of or damage to personal property that was left in vehicle or carried in the vehicle during rental period.
BREACH OF AGREEMENT- You waive all recourse against PAR for criminal prosecutions PAR takes against You for a breach of this agreement.
MODIFICATIONS- no term of this agreement may be modified or waived except in a writing signed by PAR or on a form that PAR provided.
